Bio: Hélène Dupraz Sancho

Dupraz_HelenaI hold a Master’s degree in Historical Sciences and Iberian Languages and Literatures, and a Bachelor’s degree in History of Art and Hispano-American Languages and Literatures, both from the University of Neuchâtel. In 2018, I first presented a mini-thesis entitled Musique pétrifiée, de la tristesse à l’allégresse, une iconographie des musicien. ne.s et de la musique sur le Chemin de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle dans la sculpture monumentale hispanique (Xe – XIIIe siècles), directed by Pr. Pierre-Alain Mariaux (UniNe). In 2022, I completed my Master’s dissertation entitled La Fluidité des Corps, a study of changes in female piety during the late Iberian Middle Ages, combining medical, hagiographic and moral sources, under the supervision of Nicolas Balzamo (UniNE). In 2022-2023, I took part in the production of an exhibition for the Musée de l’Hôtel-Dieu in Porrentruy (MHDP) in the canton of Jura, entitled Ici et l’Au-delà: La religion en Ajoie du XVIIIe au XXIe siècle. At the end of 2023, I joined the Department of Art History (IKG) at the University of Bern as a doctoral student in the GLOBO project: Global Bones. Entangled Histories, Transfers and Translations in the Early Modern Age, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Urte Krass and Dr. Alberto Saviello.
