Anamaria Schwab studied English and American literature as well as Romanian literature at the University of Bucharest and in 1998 she completed her M.A. in British Cultural Studies at the same University. She is currently a last year Ph.D. candidate of the Doctoral School for Literary and Cultural Studies of the University of Bucharest with a research project that focuses on the issue of rewriting New York history in recent American literature. Her main areas of interest are literary theory, American literature, urban anthropology and history, and film. She was granted an Inter-European Research Scholarship from the European Association for American Studies (EAAS) in 2008.
