Susana Rocha Teixeira graduated in English Studies and Business Administration from the University of Mannheim. She is currently writing her dissertation on “Body Modifications in 20th and 21st Century American Literature, TV-Series and Movies”, which focuses on the current American obsession with beauty, beautiful bodies and its representation in cultural products. Since October 2012, she is also a member of the Heidelberg Graduate School (HGGS). Her interests lie, e.g. in the areas of identity in the American consumer and makeover culture, postmodernity and modernity.
