Maurice Cottier studied history, sociology and social anthropology in Zurich, Berlin, and Berne. Currently, he works as a research assistant at the history departement of the University of Berne. His PhD thesis focuses on interpersonal violence and social change in the County of Berne between 1850-1950. Maurice is a member of the GS@IASH.
