Sandra Mooser studied Social Anthropology and History at the University of Bern. Since January 2012 she is a PhD student at the Institute of Social Anthropology, University of Bern and a member of the Swiss Graduate Program in Anthropology. Her PhD thesis (funded by SNSF) focuses on audio-visual forms of self-representation in transnational contexts. During her current fieldwork she is partnering a Nollywood inspired film project by African migrants in Switzerland. Her main interests lie in the areas of media and migration, performance, transnationalism and identification processes.
