Katharina Wessely studied Theatre, Film and Media Studies at the University of Vienna, Austria, and did her PhD there in 2007 with the dissertation “Theater der Identität. Das Brünner deutsche Theater der Zwischenkriegszeit” (transcript 2011). She participated in several research projects, 2004-2005 she was Junior_fellow at the IFK (International Research Centre Cultural Studies), Vienna, Austria; 2005 she received the Theodor Körner Award for Science for her PhD-project. After research stays in Prague, Czech Republic, and Munich, Germany, she worked as Junior Lecturer for German at the Department of German at the Faculty of Arts at the Masaryk University Brno, Czech Republic (2006-2009). 2008-2010 she was lecturing Theatre History at the Department of Theatre, Film and Media Studies at the University of Vienna, Austria; 2011-2013 she was Marie-Curie-Fellow at the Institute of Theatre Studies at the University of Berne, Switzerland. Currently she is fellow at the IASH (Institute of Advanced Study in the Humanities and the Social Sciences) at the University of Berne.
