Erin Rice received a BFA from Providence College and an MA in Art History from Tufts University. She is currently a PhD candidate at the Institute of Art History and a member of the IASH at the University of Bern. Her dissertation on the role of textiles in contemporary Nigerian art is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) under the Sinergia project “Other Modernities”. Beginning in January 2014, she will be a research associate with the Centre for Contemporary Art of Lagos (CCA), followed by a research semester at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).
