Anne Franciska Pusch is a PhD candidate in English Philology at the University of Heidelberg. She studied British/American Studies and Sociology in Konstanz, Germany as well as in Richmond, Virginia, USA. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Konstanz, as well as a Master’s degree from the Heidelberg Center for American Studies. Her dissertation focuses on contemporary dog novels from Canada, Australia, and the United States that are aware of the anthropocentric ‘human-animal binary’. One aim is to show how codomestication and becoming-animal, as discussed in the fictional works, are mirrored in contemporary critical discourse. Anne is an active member of the Institute for Critical Animal Studies, Minding Animals Germany, and involved in several other HAS networks. Her main research interests are: Critical Animal Studies; Critical Posthumanism; Animals in Literature; Queer Animalities and Veganism.
