Simone Brühl M.A. studied General and Comparative Literature, Theater Studies and French Literature and Language in Mainz and Vienna. She finished her studies with a thesis on the problem of ethnographic writing in postcolonial literatures. Since 2012, she has been a PhD student at the University of Bremen working on the reciprocal effects of postcolonial writing and historiographic metafiction in the contemporary German and US-American literature. Her research interests are postcolonial theory, postmodern literature and theory as well as gender studies.
