María Cáceres-Piñuel studied Human Sciences (2004) and History and Science of Music (2006), and later she completed a Master of Hispanic Music (2007) at the University of Salamanca. Her PhD was carried out in the framework of a cotutelle between Bern University and the University of Zaragoza (2014). In order to design and develop her post- doctoral project she has been awarded with a Seed Money Grant (spring 2014) and with a Balzan visiting fellowship at the Department of Musicology of Vienna University (autumn 2014). Currently, she is a research assistant at the Bernese Institute for Musicology.
