Maria Cristache is a PhD student in the sociology department at Justus-Liebig University, member of the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture and the International PhD Programme. She has a BA in Sociology and an MA in Sociology of Consumption and Marketing from the University of Bucharest and an MA in Sociology and Social Anthropology from Central European University, Budapest.
In her dissertation, she is looking at post-socialist social and cultural transformations in Romania by analyzing changes in the production and consumption of domestic objects. Her research interests are material culture, sociology of consumption, post socialism and museum studies.
