Larissa Semiramis Schedel obtained a trinational MA in research on multilingualism in 2012. Since 2013 she has been working as a PhD student in sociolinguistics/linguistic anthropology at the Institute of Multilingualism of the University of Fribourg. Drawing on ethnographic fieldwork, she is investigating the economic appropriation of language and its consequences for the definition of the authentic and legitimate worker in the tourism industry at the French-German language border in Switzerland.
