Dania Achermann studied history, geography and English linguistics in Zurich and received her “Lizenziat” (eq. MA) in the spring of 2010. For her licentiate thesis she worked on the history of snow and avalanche research in Switzerland and the shift towards the creation of a modern scientific discipline in the 1930s.
As of May 2010, Dania Achermann is a PhD student at the Institute for Atmospheric Physics of the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich which is associated with Aarhus University in Denmark and LMU Munich.
