Margaret Smith is a doctoral candidate in medieval history at Saint Louis University. Her research interests include the construction of identity, cultural hybridity, textual transmission, and intellectual networks in the late medieval and early modern world. She is also active in digital humanities scholarship. She is currently working on her dissertation, which investigates the construction of identity and authority in late medieval and early modern Gaelic Irish lordships.
