Leon Chisholm is a postdoctoral research scholar with the “Materiality of Musical Instruments” research group at the Deutsches Museum in Munich. He holds a Ph.D. in the History and Literature of Music from the University of California, Berkeley and a master’s degree in organ performance from Arizona State University. His research interests include the relationship between polyphonic composition, keyboard playing, and music theory in early modern Italy; fiddle music in eighteenth-century Scotland; the history of organ building; and the craft knowledge of working musicians.
