Catalina Ospina

I hold a B.S. in Physics from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá and a M.A. in Art History from the University of Chicago. Currently, I am PhD candidate in the Art History department at the University of Chicago. My work centers on the material culture of pre-Hispanic and colonial Latin America, with a focus on the Andean region. My research examines the intersections between the symbolic and pragmatic aspects of bodily practices and properties and circulation of artifacts. I am particularly interested in understanding knowledge-making practices beyond alphabetic writing.
