Imke Polland is the academic coordinator of the European PhD Network “Literary and Cultural Studies” at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen, where she did her PhD at the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC) and the International PhD Programme “Literary and Cultural Studies” (IPP). Imke has just handed in her doctoral thesis entitled: ‘For Better, For Worse?’ Royal Heirs Between Continuity and Change in Media Representations of British Royal Weddings (2005 and 2011). Her research interests are in the fields of Royal Studies, Media Events and News Studies, (Media-)Cultural Narratology, Cultural Memory Studies and Brexit Literatures. She has co-organised several academic conferences, symposia, and a summer school in the field of contemporary literary and culture studies and is co-editor of the volume Literature and Crises (2017) and the forthcoming books Europe’s Crises and Cultural Resources of Resilience and Forms at Work.
