Roland Wenzlhuemer received a doctoral degree in history from Salzburg University in 2002. He has held postdoctoral positions at the Centre for Modern Oriental Studies and at Humboldt University in Berlin.
Since 2008 he has been leading an independent research group within the Cluster of Excellence “Asia and Europe in a Global Context” at the University of Heidelberg. In June 2011 he received the venia legendi in Modern History. His research interests lie mainly in the fields of colonial and global history as well as in the history of technology.
Roland Wenzlhuemer is a guest lecturer of the Winter School 2012.
