My name is Efthymis Kokordelis and I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Lausanne. I have studied in Greece (BA), Sweden (MA), and worked in Germany at a Digital Humanities centre before starting my PhD in Lausanne in the field of Digital Humanities and Digital History. My versatile educational and professional background are the result of my great interest in multiple historical topics and this is expressed in my PhD research, as well, having chosen to develop it within the context of social history. And this as social history is the perfect canvas for developing my work, allowing me to experiment in theoretical and methodological terms, include diverse materials, and bounce between different historical and archaeological sub-fields in an attempt to understand and explain such complicated and multidimensional entities. I have an excessive interest in the theoretics of History, peripheral and remote regions, insular societies, complex (or better, yet, over-complex!) social structures, and environmental history. Lastly, teaching is a very important and valuable part of my work, complementing or even completing my research.
