Sandro Weilenmann is a doctoral candidate in art history at the University of Fribourg. His project is supported by the SNF and explores vocal discourses in the works of artists such as Adrian Piper, VALIE EXPORT, and Yvonne Rainer. Prior to starting his dissertation he has studied at the Courtauld Institute, London and at the University of Zurich. His current focus lies on artistic practices post-1960 in Europe and Northern America, sound studies, and political economy. Apart from his academic research, he is interested in art criticism and has written for publications such as Art Papers, Kunstbulletin, and Flash Art.
