Georgina Sánchez Celaya studied for a master’s in Art History and Curatorial Studies at UNAM. She has curated several art exhibitions in Mexico related to social movements. Her main research interest lies in visual culture, contemporary art, and the dialogues with indigenous knowledge and cosmologies, ecological activism, and socio-environmental movements. Her current doctoral project focuses on ecofeminist performance practices, the notion of ritual, and its relationship to ecological conflicts in Latin America. She is part of the SNFS project “Mediating the Ecological Imperative” at the University of Bern.
